Sevilla vs Villarreal ended in a 2-1 win in favour of the Yellow Submarines as they ended their six-match winless streak.

Raul Albiol’s goal was cancelled out by Munir El Haddadi but substitute Teko Ekambi scored the winner late on.

It was a keenly contested game as both sides showed their attacking flair in the game before the away side got their noses in front in the 13th minute.

Spain international Albiol got a lucky rebound from a corner kick as he headed home the first goal to make it 1-0.

Sevilla were dominant onwards but their equalizer came in the 61st minute through former Barcelona striker El Haddadi.

Sergio Regullion drilled in a low cross from the right as the Spanish striker applied a fine finish to level matters at 1-1.

But it was Javier Calleja’s side that had the last shout as substitute Ekambi helped an assist from Manu Trigueros in the 74th minute as it finished 2-1.

Villarreal moved seven points from safety while Sevilla seven-match winning run in all competitions came to an end.
